During the last one year of the initiative, it has been observed that the most important and onerous task is the process of identification and selection of genuinely needy students. On receipt of the request from the students for financial assistance, the help and inputs of Professors and Student Representatives of concerned Medical colleges are taken for validation. That apart, rigorous field inquiries about the financial status of their parents are made through third-party sources.
A student who satisfies all conditions as required for selection is tied up with a sponsor who is willing to assist him/her to meet the cost of education/hostel etc. for the entire MBBS course. Once the process of tying up with the Sponsor is complete, the bank details of the Students are provided to their respective Sponsors with a request to transfer the monthly assistance amount as determined from time to time to the accounts of the students within a specified date, preferably in the first week of the month. The annual College and Hostel re-admission fees are also transferred to the account of these students as and when demanded by the respective Colleges. The students are instructed to send the money receipt of the said fees deposited to the founder (Shri Basa) under information to the Sponsors. The process of fund transfer is transparent and hassle-free as the assistance is remitted directly to the beneficiary without any via media.
